Lance Stroll finished P11 at the Hungarian Grand Prix on Sunday.
Lance Stroll had a go at unlapping himself from Sir Lewis Hamilton at the Hungarian Grand Prix, but it was to no avail as he eventually finished P11.
Stroll out-qualified team-mate Sebastian Vettel for the third time this season as he started the race 14th, with Vettel struggling to find pace in qualifying following his crash in FP3 that necessitated a quick repair job by the Aston Martin team.
The Canadian had been making headway up towards the points when he encountered Daniel Ricciardo after pitting for fresh Softs, and the Australian, on cold Hards, locked up into Turn Two.

That wiped Stroll out, and he was later asked to allow Vettel, who was faster on his Mediums, to pass him for the final point in 10th.
Every driver up to eighth-placed Fernando Alonso was lapped on Sunday but Stroll, having bolted on his Softs, was quicker than Hamilton as the seven-time champion laboured on his worn Mediums.
“Can I unlap Hamilton,” he asked over the radio.
“If you’ve got the pace mate, yes you can,” replied engineer Ben Michell.

The three-time podium finisher tried to pass the Mercedes at Turns Two and Three, but the Briton calmly gave the Aston Martin space, before covering the inside as they headed up the hill into Turn Four.
Hamilton’s stop would eventually give Stroll the lap back anyway, and the 37-year-old came through to pass Carlos Sainz and George Russell to finish second in Budapest behind race winner Max Verstappen.
Stroll kept it short and sweet after the race, saying that his car felt “fine,” before describing the contact with Ricciardo as “annoying.”
But he did so with a smile as he added “it’s racing.”
He also suggested that the British team must work on their qualifying pace if they are to start scoring points more regularly.
“Yeah, I mean we seem better on Sunday than on Saturday so we’ve got to work away,” affirmed Stroll.
Stroll sits 18th in the Drivers’ Standings going into the summer break.
