In Major League Baseball, Japanese two-way star Ohtani Shohei of the Los Angeles Angels racked up four hits on Wednesday, including a home run.
Ohtani was the designated hitter, batting second in a game against the Seattle Mariners.
In his third at-bat in the fifth inning, he hit a single to center field, driving in a run. On his next appearance, in the seventh inning with one man on base, Ohtani tripled to mark another RBI.
In his fifth at-bat in the 9th inning, the Japanese slugger connected for a two-run homer, his 27th of the season.
Ohtani went four for five on the day, with four RBIs, and extended his hitting streak to five games.
The Angels lost to the Mariners 7 to 11.
