A landscaped mini-golf course has become the latest attraction at a popular seaside spot.
The 12-hole putting challenge, called Putters!, opened for people of all ages in Folkestone today.
The course is situated in the Beachside development close to the Folkestone Harbour Arm, alongside the Little Rock seafood restaurant and The Pilot beach bar.
There is also a new cafe, run by Jamie and Emily Evans – the couple who operate the Leas Lift cafe a short distance away on the seafront.
Dan Johanssen, a spokesman for the Folkestone Harbour, said the team was “incredibly proud” to open the new attraction.
“This is an incredibly exciting moment for us,” he added.
“Since first reopening to the public as a visitor attraction in 2015, we have steadily developed our reputation as a food and drink destination.
“Now we’re able to add a top-quality, custom-built adventure golf course and café in a truly beautiful setting to our ever-growing list of things to see and do in Folkestone Harbour, which includes a large outdoor screen in The Goods Yard, a thriving retail space at Folkestone Marketplace, nearly 30 independent food and drink establishments across the site and now a family friendly, classic seaside attraction.”
The course itself is made up of 12 holes of varying difficulty and takes between 45 minutes to an hour to complete, depending on group size and skill level.
It was developed by the creators of the courses at Leeds Castle and Alton Towers.
James Davies, Commercial Operations Manager at Folkestone Harbour and Seafront Development Company said: “We’re delighted to have been able to open Putters! during the 2022 summer holidays.
“Our teams have been working on this ambitious new project since March, and we can’t wait to see the many who already enjoy Folkestone Harbour embrace this new attraction.”
Putters! will be open throughout the year and is currently open 7 days a week until the close of the summer holidays (Monday September 5).
It will be open from 10am until 6pm most days, staying open an hour later on Friday and Saturday.
A round of golf costs £5 per person regardless of age.
