GREEN BAY – Packers linebacker De'Vondre Campbell made the NFL Network’s “Top 100 Players” list for the first time, coming in at No. 49 for 2022.
Campbell, whom the Packers signed in June of 2021, became an instant starter in Green Bay and an immediate fixture in the middle of coordinator Joe Barry’s defense.
He led the team with 145 total tackles (101 solo), which ranked seventh in the league, adding two sacks, six tackles for loss, six QB hits, two interceptions, five passes defensed, two forced fumbles and one recovery.
Campbell went on to earn first-team All-Pro honors from the Associated Press, the first Packers inside linebacker to earn All-Pro recognition since Nick Barnett was a second-team selection in 2007. Green Bay’s last first-teamer at the position was Hall of Famer Ray Nitschke in 1966.
During the season, Campbell was named NFC Defensive Player of the Month for October, a first for a Packers defender since Clay Matthews in September 2010.
He also was the only linebacker in the league with 100-plus solo tackles who was charged with fewer than 10 missed tackles, according to Pro Football Focus. PFF charged Campbell with just four missed tackles on the season.
Originally a fourth-round draft pick by Atlanta in 2016 out of the University of Minnesota, Campbell played four seasons with the Falcons and one with the Cardinals before joining the Packers. He signed a multi-year contract extension with Green Bay this past offseason.
