Hearts hope to add Nottingham Forest winger Alex Mighten to their ranks.
Football Scotland can exclusively reveal the attacker is on a list of options for Robbie Neilson as he looks to bolster his squad ahead of their upcoming European run. It is understood Neilson is keen on the player and would, ideally, like to have him in the door before their upcoming Zurich clash. Whether or not the club are able to do so is still up in the air with Forest believed to be delaying an agreement over wage contribution negotiations.
Mighten, 20, is contracted at the City Ground until 2025 and is considered an emerging talent having played 27 times in the English Championship last term where he helped them gain Premier League promotion following a fourth-placed finish in the table. He was an unused sub in the playoff final victory over Huddersfield but he did come off the bench in the first leg of the semi-final where they beat Sheffield United 2-1 at Bramall Lane.
He made his Premier League debut for Forest coming off the bench for the newly promoted side against Newcastle in their 2-0 defeat at St James' Park.
Mighten has four goals in three seasons as a Forest player but has played the majority of action from the bench.
He currently turns out for his side in PL2 while being used as an impact player for the first-team.
