The golf world is giving its fans a lot of surprises every day. Starting from golf legends switching their tours for money, to filing lawsuits against each other, we have still not seen it all. Furthermore, the former PGA Tour player, Jason Gore, is now playing a new role for the tour. The 48-year-old is appointed as the senior vice president and player advisor to the Commissioner on the PGA Tour. And the fans cannot keep their opinions to themselves after the news.

In an announcement on Friday about the future of the tour, it was said, “Gore will serve as a player advocate who will continue to strengthen the relationship between the Tour and its membership.” Gore has had an amazing career as a player on the PGA Tour for over two decades. He has been acting as the managing director for player relations with USGA for the last three years. Looking at his ways of tackling sensitive matters, he is playing a similar role with the PGA Tour.

The decision came to light three days after the recent meeting between Tiger Woods and 21 other players. However, McIlroy has a mixed opinion about the decision. According to him, players are not qualified enough to make decisions that businessmen and managers can. “The players are players, and management are management,” said McIlroy.
He also referred to Gore as the “missing link” who could help both the players as well as the tour to come to certain decisions. He also said that Gore could help in making the players happy with playing on the tour.
