Trevor Zegras and Sarah Nurse made history after EA Sports announced the two forwards as the cover stars of NHL 23 on Wednesday.
Zegras is the first Anaheim Ducks player to be featured on the cover of the NHL video game.
Nurse, who plays for the Canada’s women’s national hockey team, is the first woman to appear on the cover of the EA Sports NHL video game series.
EA Sports made the announcement on their Twitter account. The individual official covers of Zegras and Nurse will be revealed through a YouTube livestream on EA Sports NHL’s account Thursday.
Zegras had 61 points (23 goals, 38 assists) in 75 games last season and was named a finalist for the Calder Trophy as NHL rookie of the year.His two lacrosse style goals made him a viral sensation during the season.
Nurse helped Canada win the gold medal in the 2022 Beijing Olympics. She set records for most assists (13) and points (18) at a single Olympics.
NHL 23 is set to be released Oct. 14.
