The 25-year-old right-arm pacer Kuldeep Sen, who plays for Madhya Pradesh in domestic cricket and Rajasthan Royals in Indian Premier League (IPL), will be replacing the right-arm medium pacer Deepak Chahar in the Asia Cup 2022 squad of the India National Cricket Team, as per a report in Dainik Bhaskar.
The Asia Cup 2022, which is the 15th edition of the tournament, is scheduled to be played from August 27 to September 11. The entire tournament is set to be held in United Arab Emirates (UAE) with the hosts Sri Lanka taking on Afghanistan in the opening clash.

In their tournament opener, the Rohit Sharma-led India National Cricket Team are set to lock horns with Babar Azam-led Pakistan National Cricket Team at the Dubai International Stadium, Dubai on Sunday, August 28.
Notably, star pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel got ruled out of the upcoming Asia Cup 2022 due to their respective injuries.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh and Avesh Khan are the three pacers in India’s 15-member squad. Also, pacer Chahar, who made a comeback to the side after a 6-month-long injury lay-off during the three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe, was named as a standby player along with Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel.
According to the same Dainik Bhaskar report, Kuldeep’s coach Aril Anthony has said that Chahar will miss the tournament after suffering an injury and Kuldeep has been included in the squad.
Kuldeep’s brother Jagdeep Sen told that Kuldeep received a call from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) chief selector Chetan Sharma on August 22 and he was informed about his selection in the squad.
Kuldeep, who made his first-class debut for Madhya Pradesh in November 2018 in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy, was bought by the Rajasthan Royals at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction for INR 20 lakh. He impressed everyone with his ability to bowl deliveries consistently at over 145 kmph in the tournament.
Overall, Kuldeep Sen picked up 8 wickets in the Indian Premier League 2022 for Rajasthan Royals in 7 games at an economy of 9.41 and an average of 29.6.
