Image: At 168 Who Wins - Canelo or Calzaghe? By Ken Hissner – Former WBO World Super Middleweight champion Joe “Pride of Wales” Calzaghe ended his career at 46-0 with 32 stoppages and 21 title defenses from 1993 to 2008 when his injured hands ended his career.
Current WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBF World Super Middleweight champion and former WBC, WBA and WBC and IBF World Middleweight champion and former WBO Light Heavyweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez is still active with a record of 57-2-2 with 39 stoppages and 17 title defenses. He is currently scheduled on September 17th to meet IBF and WBA World Middleweight champion Gennadiy “GGG” Golovkin, 42-1-1 with 37 stoppages, at T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada, in their third meeting. 
In September of 2017, Golovkin and Alvarez fought to a disputed draw that Golovkin deserved to win. In September of 2018 Alvarez won a majority decision.
In June of 2006 Alvarez in his fifth fight drew in four rounds with Jorge Juarez, 3-5 over 4 rounds in Tijuana, Mexico. There was never a rematch.
In September of 2013, Alvarez lost a majority decision to Floyd “Money” Mayweather, 44-0, over 12 rounds for his WBA and WBC World Super Welterweight title, at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas, Nevada.
In May of 2022, Alvarez lost to WBA World Light Heavyweight champion Dmitrii Bivol, 19-0, over 12 rounds at T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada.
Calzaghe, 44-0, came to the United States in April of 2008 winning a split decision over former WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF World Middleweight champion Bernard “The Executioner” Hopkins, 48-4-1, over 12 rounds at the Thomas Mack Center, Las Vegas, Nevada, in his 20th defense. Hopkins went on to win WBC Light Heavyweight title over Jean Pascal.  
Calzaghe, 45-0, in November of 2008 won a decision over former IBF World Middleweight, IBF Super Middleweight, WBC, WBA, and IBF World Light Heavyweight and WBA Heavyweight champion Roy Jones, Jr., 52-4, at Madison Square Garden, New York, by a 118-109 score. Jones went on to a 14-4 record after this.
Well, fight fans who wins between Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Joe “Pride of Wales” Calzaghe? 
In February of 2009, Calzaghe announced his retirement. In 2014 he was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame.
