Bath Rugby can reveal its new Macron home kit for 2022/23, inspired by Heineken Cup win of 1998, filmed in partnership with the club’s Official AV and Technology partner, Bendac.
Staying true to form with the classic blue, black and white hoops, the kit pays homage to the infamous Heineken Cup win over Brive in 1998.
Over 7,000 dedicated Bath Rugby fans crossed the Channel to Bordeaux to support the team in their trophy winning match.
Of the occasion, Phil de Glanville said*: “If you see the video of us all running towards the touch line, you probably have a good sense of what the feeling was.
“It was absolute joy – everyone up in their arms running towards the coaches and the rest of the bench.
The new strip is inspired by the jersey worn by Bath Rugby legends, de Glanville and Steve Ojomoh, 25 years ago.
Over two decades later, it’s modelled by their sons, Tom de Glanville and Max Ojomoh, who will take centre stage as the new season commences in under two weeks against Bristol Bears.
The home jersey is one of the most recognisable in the Gallagher Premiership, and retains the traditional blue, black and white composition.
To add to the Heineken Cup commemoration, Bath Rugby recently announced Jon Callard as their new Kicking Coach for the 2022/23 season, joining the club’s string of new leaders.
Callard scored all 19 points in the Brive clash, leading the team to triumph.
Of the victory, Callard said: “The thing that made the occasion so special was how the Bath supporters got into the spirit of the French culture.
“Any player that comes into the Bath Rugby family has the aim of leaving something in the foundation of the club.
“In terms of what I did during the European Cup, I’m just a tiny, little bit in that foundation and I look back at it very fondly.
“I don’t look back and think ‘I scored all the points’; I was just fortunate to do it.”
Our 2022/23 kit launch is filmed in partnership with our official AV and technology partners, Bendac, using their cutting-edge virtual production studio. Also providers of our LED scoreboards, Bendac offer a full turn-key solution for LED displays.
Replica kit will soon be available to purchase in men’s, women’s and junior fit. An adult cotton strip will also be available with long or short sleeve options.
We will let you know as soon as the kit is available to buy. If you don’t currently receive emails from Bath Rugby, sign up today to make sure you’re the first to know when you can get your hands on the jersey!

Due to this fixture uncertainty the planned pre-season fixture against Ampthill RUFC has moved from Saturday 3rd September to Friday 2nd September Kick-off 7pm (Gates Open 5pm).
This change will ensure our team has the best possible preparation for the start of the season should any Gallagher Premiership fixtures need to change (Saracens have no further knowledge of any changes at this time). Everyone at Saracens sincerely hopes this is not the case and our thoughts are with everyone at the Warriors.
We are also so sorry to cause our fans inconvenience and we really hope that you can still attend.
Previously communicated matchday entertainment, catering and activations may be subject to change as a result of the fixture change, further details will be provided shortly regarding entertainment and catering arrangements.
All existing match tickets and parking purchases will remain valid for the Friday night game.
These tickets will be issued for print at home by noon on Thursday 1st September. Your tickets will also be made available for digital download via Apple or Google wallet to display on a mobile device. Supporters who are unable to make the re-arranged fixture will have their tickets automatically refunded within 14 days (by Monday 19th September).

Sale Sharks can confirm the club’s senior playing squad to compete in the 2022/23 Gallagher Premiership and Heineken Champions Cup.
The 62-man squad includes the club’s biggest ever intake of senior academy players as well as five new signings, among them England stars George Ford and Jonny Hill.
Alex Sanderson led his squad to a sixth-place finish in last year’s Premiership as well as a Champions Cup quarter-final.
And with the experience of Ford, Hill, and fellow new boys Joe Simpson, Tom O’Flaherty and Jason Woodward to add to a squad filled with international stars and young, northern talent, the Sharks Director of Rugby is targeting even more success in the upcoming campaign.
Alex will be without three of his first-team stars when the season kicks off against Northampton Saints on Friday, September 2. [Get your tickets here] George Ford, Connor Doherty (both achilles) will be sidelined until the new year, while Will Cliff (knee) is expected to be out until November/December.
But opportunity knocks for England under 18 stars Tristan Woodman, Charlie Wardle, Ellis Causey, Patreece Bell and Ben Motamed who are among 11 players to sign senior academy contracts ahead of the new season.
They’re joined by Aaron Pope, George Arnold, Yande Nkonge, Will Riley, Harry Thompson and Wales under 18 international Huw Davies.

The Heineken Champions Cup and EPCR Challenge Cup will further extend their reach in the booming USA rugby market following today’s announcement of a new three-year broadcast partnership between EPCR and the leading sports streaming platform, FloSports.
As the exclusive broadcaster of EPCR’s tournaments in the USA until the conclusion of the 2024/25 season, FloSports will stream matches in each of the pool stage and knockout stage rounds, including both finals which are scheduled for Dublin’s Aviva Stadium in May 2023.
The deal is part of an historic alliance which will see the Heineken Champions Cup and the EPCR Challenge Cup bundled with key fixtures in the United Rugby Championship (URC) and France’s TOP 14, allowing viewers in America unprecedented access to all four competitions on one digital platform.
This innovative collaboration between EPCR, the URC and the TOP 14 means that FloSports will stream close to 450 matches representing more than 600 hours of high-class action during the 2022/23 season.
Apart from access to fixtures involving iconic clubs such as Exeter Chiefs, Leicester Tigers, Leinster Rugby and Stade Toulousain, viewers in America will also be able to watch the best of South African rugby as the Stormers, Bulls, Sharks, Lions and the Cheetahs compete in the Heineken Champions Cup and EPCR Challenge Cup for the first time.
“The Heineken Champions Cup is the pinnacle of international club rugby and we are delighted to enhance the global reach of our flagship competition, as well as the EPCR Challenge Cup, through this exciting partnership with FloSports alongside two of our leagues – the URC and the TOP 14,” said EPCR Chairman, Dominic McKay.
“The US market is a key strategic priority for EPCR as we build the audiences and awareness of our world-class competitions in new territories. With the Heineken Champions Cup, EPCR Challenge Cup, URC and TOP 14 available from this season at the home of US rugby, more fans than ever will be able watch the very best of the international club game.
“This is our first foray into collaborating on international media rights deals with our leagues, so we are proud to make this piece of history in conjunction with FloSports.”
“We are thrilled to be working alongside these three world-class rugby properties to create a historic sports alliance with a mission of supporting the overall growth of rugby in the US,” said Ryan Fenton, Director, Global Rights Acquisition, FloSports.
“The partnerships with EPCR, the URC and the TOP 14 fit perfectly into our vision to elevate rugby in the US through ongoing investments in media rights which delivers unparalleled live programming and creates compelling news and analysis while building an essential destination for fans of the sport.”
EPCR will be announcing further multi-year broadcast partnerships for its core territories of the UK, France, Ireland and South Africa shortly, and these will be followed by the announcement of the exact dates, kick-off times and TV coverage of the 2022/23 fixtures.
