Looking back on the big tennis news in our exclusive ‘Second Service’…Andy Murray put his body on the line for the Laver Cup with Frances Tiafoe revealing McEnroe’s desperation for a Team World win, plus more…
To start, Andy Murray cemented his status as a true fighter after literally leaving some of himself out on court at the Laver Cup.
At 4-2 in the first set of the opening doubles on day three, Murray and Berrettini both went for a ball when the Brit tripped over the Italian, picking himself up and tumbling again before Berrettini put the point away.
Murray picked up a considerable scrape on his right knee as a result, even leaving behind some debris on court.
“That’s my skin” said Murray as he cleaned up after himself on the court.

In other tennis news, Frances Tiafoe sealed the turn of the tables for Team World as they ended Team Europe’s Laver Cup dominance at their fifth attempt.
“Unbelievable feeling,” Tiafoe said after sealing the trophy with a win over Stefanos Tsitsipas. “Johnny Mac (McEnroe) was tired of losing.
“He kept dropping f-bombs saying that we needed to get it done this year. I kept saying all week leading up that this was our year. The guys showed up.

Furthermore, Felix Auger-Aliassime put Novak Djokovic to the sword 6-3, 7-6 (7-3), playing aggressively and serving 13 aces to just one double fault over the course of the match.
“Today has been fantastic so far,” Auger-Aliassime said after defeating Djokovic. “Right now it’s been one of the best performances of my career so far.
“I’ve been close a few times in recent times against these great champions, so it feels great to get a win like this, especially in front of you in this arena and for Team World.”

Moving on, Matteo Berrettini wants it to be known that he would not be the player he is today were it not for his idol Roger Federer.
After opening day two with a win for Team Europe, Berrettini reflected on the send off held for Federer the night before.
“Having the chances to live what we lived yesterday is something that’s going to be stuck in my heart and my brain forever,” he revealed in press. “I’m not lying when I say that I’m here because of him. Like he was really the one that I was looking up to.
