Irina-Camelia Begu won against Matilde Paoletti 6-4, 6-4 on Wednesday evening and will play Romanian Ana Bogdan, the No 6 seed, in the next round
Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu, the No 3 seed, won against Italian wildcard Matilde Paoletti 6-4, 6-4 to reach the quarter-finals of the Parma Open at the Tennis Club Parma on Wednesday evening.
Begu, ranked No 33, will play Romanian Ana Bogdan, the No 6 seed, next.
The Romanian benefited from the abandonment of Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova (7-5, 5-1) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round of the Parma Ladies Open, Paoletti, ranked No 366, beat Romanian lucky loser Gabriela Lee (6-4, 3-6, 6-0).
