Venus Williams says she is the type of person that is always striving for more and trying to reach new heights. During an interview with Bradley Cooper the History Talks' interview, Venus and Serena were asked how it felt knowing that they changed the game of tennis.
“For me, I want to do more. You want to be better every moment. It’s never enough. If it was perfect, it still wasn’t perfect enough," Venus said in the 'History Talks' interview, per Vanity Fair.
Serena added: “When you’re on the inside, you can’t see it. It’s completely different when you’re involved."
The Williams sisters are by far considered as the greatest sister duo in tennis history.
During their prime, they were virtually unstoppable and the competition had to adjust in order to be competitive against them. At this past US Open, the game of tennis lost one all-time great. Serena, a former 23-time Grand Slam champion, retired from tennis after the US Open.
In her final tournament, Serena also teamed up with her sister Venus for the US Open women's doubles event. Unfortunately, the Williams sisters didn't make it far in the doubles event, having suffered a first round defeat.
After Serena's US Open campaign was officially over, Venus paid her a touching tribute via an Instagram post. "After 1 year away from the game, there is still no one who can approach her level, her intensity her excitement, her entertainment.
There will never be another @serenawilliams her legacy lives on in all those she inspired to greatness, me included! No one has effected the game, or sport, the way she has. Tennis won’t be the same without its GOAT," Venus wrote on Instagram. Venus, 42, has hinted several times in recent weeks that she is planning to continue her career.
