The Brazilian scored the opener in Arsenal’s 3-2 win over Liverpool Sunday, taking his tally for the season to four goals in nine Premier League matches.
Following Martinelli’s impressive performances, the Gunners are keen to agree a new contract with the winger, whose current deal runs until June 2024 with an option for a further year.
According to Football Insider, Arsenal are in advanced talks over an extension that would also offer improved terms.
The proposed deal would run until 2026 and include an option to extend by a further year, while the report suggests Martinelli would receive a significant pay rise.
In his 95 appearances for Arsenal, Martinelli has registered 22 goals and 15 assists, and he may have the chance to continue his recent form when the Gunners face Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League on Thursday.
