France manager Dider Deschamps has this afternoon announced his squad for the upcoming international break, which features the returns of forwards Olivier Giroud and Ousmane Dembélé as well as a host of fresh faces.
Deschamps has had to make do with an injury crisis that has included the likes of regulars Karim Benzema, Paul Pogba N’Golo Kanté and Presnel Kimpembe being ruled out of action. As a result, this month’s squad has seen first call-ups for Monaco defender Benoît Badiashile, midfielder Youssouf Fofana, and Eintracht Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani.
Full France squad to play against Austria (September 22) and Denmark (September 25):
Goalkeepers: Hugo Lloris (Tottenham Hotspur), Mike Maignan (Milan), Alphonse Areola (West Ham)
Defenders: Benoît Badiashile (Monaco), Jonathan Clauss (Marseille), Théo Hernandez (Milan), Jules Koundé (Barcelona), Ferland Mendy (Real Madrid), Benjamin Pavard (Bayern Munich), William Saliba (Arsenal), Dayot Upamecano (Bayern Munich), Raphaël Varane (Manchester United).
Midfielders: Eduardo Camavinga (Real Madrid), Youssouf Fofana (Monaco), Mattéo Guendouzi (Marseille), Adrien Rabiot (Juventus), Aurélien Tchouaméni (Real Madrid).
Attackers: Olivier Giroud (Milan), Ousmane Dembélé (Barcelona), Kylian Mbappé (PSG), Antoine Griezmann (Atlético Madrid), Randal Kolo Muani (Eintracht Frankfurt), Christopher Nkunku (Leipzig).
