WWE is bringing back the Fight Pit match for the feud between Seth Rollins and Matt Riddle at the October 8th Extreme Rules premium live event.
WWE made the match announcement during Monday’s episode of Raw. A fan commented on a tweet the company sent out to note that former WWE star Ken Shamrock should be the special guest referee. Shamrock appears to be in agreement as he noted that he supports the idea:
Shamrock would be a great fit for this type of gimmick match due to his MMA background. The former WWE star also took on Owen Hart at SummerSlam 1998 in a Lion’s Den match, which is similar to the Fight Pit.
Shamrock has offered to do stuff for WWE in the past, including in 2018 when he revealed he threw feelers out in hopes for a WWE return.
In 2020, he reached out to Shane McMahon on Twitter to offer to help with the Raw Underground segments. Shamrock has said he would love to be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame one day.
Shamrock hasn't been seen on WWE TV since he left the company in 1999. He got The Rock to induct him into the Impact Wrestling Hall Of Fame a few years ago.
